TATTOO REMOVAL AFTERCARE

After your tattoo removal procedure, it is crucial to follow these instructions carefully:

DAY ONE (DAY OF THE TREATMENT):

  • Apply ointment to the treated area before leaving the studio.

  • If the ointment is absorbed or accidentally removed, reapply it using a clean cotton swab.

  • Rinse the area with water 30 minutes after the procedure to remove lymph from the skin and then reapply the ointment using a cotton swab to apply a thin layer.

FOR THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS AFTER YOUR REMOVAL PROCEDURE:

  • Wash your face as usual.

  • Apply ointment, Aquaphor healing ointment, or fresh aloe vera gel a minimum of 3-4 times per day using a cotton swab.

  • Avoid aggressive movements or manipulation of the skin.

  • Clean your hands thoroughly before touching the treated area.

IT IS ESSENTIAL TO AVOID THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES & SUBSTANCES DURING THE FIRST NINE DAYS AFTER YOUR REMOVAL PROCEDURE:

  • Using cosmetics on the affected area for 10-14 days after the procedure.

  • Participating in sports or other physically demanding activities.

  • Taking hot baths (use lukewarm water instead).

  • Swimming or gardening.

  • Coming into contact with animals.

  • Using any laser or chemical peel treatments or products containing glycolic acid or Retin-A on your face.

  • Picking, peeling, or scratching the scab - allow it to fall off naturally.

  • Being in high dust environments.

  • Visiting a solarium, sunbathing, or going to a pool for 2 weeks after the procedure.

  • Receiving any facial or body treatments for 3-6 weeks after the procedure.

  • Exercising or receiving massages on the face or body for 7 days after the procedure.

  • Touching the treated area, except when rinsing or cleansing it or applying aftercare treatment with a clean Q-Tip.

During the first seven days after your tattoo removal procedure, it is normal for some itching and flaking to occur. However, following the care instructions outlined above can help reduce these symptoms. It takes approximately six weeks for deeper wounds to fully heal.

Please note that tattoo removal typically requires multiple sessions to fully remove the old pigment. During this time, you may choose to undergo another procedure instead of the tattoo removal.

If you experience any signs or symptoms of infection, such as redness, swelling, tenderness at the procedure site, red streaks radiating from the site towards the heart, a fever, or pus drainage from the site, seek medical care immediately.

It is important to protect the treated area from sun exposure, the use of retinoids, peels, laser treatments, and other powerful exfoliants, as they may cause the pigmentation to fade prematurely. Failure to follow the aftercare instructions provided may put you at risk of infection, pigment loss, or discoloration.
